Senior Photos: A Preparation Checklist
What to Bring to a Senior Photoshoot
A Checklist for a Picture-Perfect Day
Senior year is an exciting time, filled with memorable moments and milestones. One of the most anticipated events is undoubtedly the senior photo session, where you get to capture your unique personality and style in timeless portraits. To ensure your senior photo session goes off without a hitch, it's essential to come prepared. Here's a checklist of what to bring to your senior photo session:
1. Multiple Outfits:
Wardrobe changes: Plan at least two to three outfits that reflect different aspects of your personality. Choose a mix of casual, formal, and trendy attire to showcase your style diversity.
2. Optional Accessories:
Jewelry: Bring some statement pieces or sentimental jewelry that holds special meaning to you.
Hats, scarves, and sunglasses: These can add variety and style to your photos.
3. Hair and Makeup Essentials:
Hairbrush/comb and styling products for touch-ups to keep your hair looking great throughout the session.
Makeup for touch-ups: A small makeup bag with essentials like lip gloss, powder, and blotting papers can be a lifesaver.
4. Props and Personal Items:
Please mention any special interests ahead of time so I can be thoughtful about how we might incorporate props or a unique setting.
Sports equipment: If you're into sports, consider bringing your gear.
Musical instruments: For a unique and personal touch, bring along your instrument.
Books or magazines: If reading is a passion, include your favorite book or magazine.
Talents or hobbies: Anything that represents your interests and passions can make for great props.
5. Comfortable Shoes:
Bring comfy shoes for walking between different locations during the session. I can’t stress this enough.
6. Water and Snacks:
Stay hydrated and energized. Bringing a water bottle and a small snack, such as a granola bar or some fruit, is a smart move. Avoid bringing anything that could spill or stain your clothing.
7. Friends or Family:
Consider having a friend or family member along for support and to help with outfit changes and props. I love seeing someone there to support you!
8. Relaxation Items:
Bringing some soothing music or headphones can help you relax and get into the right mood for your photos.
9. Confidence and Positivity:
Your confidence and a positive attitude are your best accessories. Embrace the moment, have fun, and let your personality shine.
10. Punctuality:
Be on time for your session. This ensures you have the full allocated time to capture your best shots. You might consider showing up ten minutes early to walk around a bit and get into the right headspace.
11. Ideas and Inspiration:
Feel free to share any specific ideas or concepts you have in mind with me. I will try to help bring your vision to life.
Remember, senior photo sessions are a celebration of who you are and who you're becoming. By bringing these items and maintaining a positive attitude, you'll be well-prepared to create stunning, memorable images that will serve as a cherished reminder of your senior year. Enjoy the experience and treasure the moments!
